Mostly small dogs, terriers are known to have some of the biggest personalities in the canine world. The name comes from the latin "terra" meaning earth, which is fitting as they were originally bred for hunting small vermin below ground.
As domestic pets, they've retained their inquisitve, energetic natures and are usually very playful and full of life!
